For the third year running BiG Storage is running a Xmas Toy Appeal in conjunction with the Stockport Express and Times, Wilmslow Express, Macclesfield Express, South Manchester Reporter and Trafford Metro for the many underprivileged and vulnerable children from nominated local charities in the area. The recipient charities will include the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust who provide holidays and activities for terminally ill, chronically sick, disabled and disadvantaged children, Henshaws Society for the Blind, The David Lewis Centre and The Stockport Early Intervention and Family Support Centre. The David Lewis Centre is well known in the area for offering a range of medical, educational, residential and assessment services for children with complex epilepsy and other neurological conditions, including learning disability and challenging behaviour
This year’s Xmas Toy appeal was launched by the renowned Noddy Holder who must be the living epitome of Xmas Festivities through Slade’s chart topping hit ‘Merry Xmas Everyone’ , played at Christmas parties throughout the country and recognised by young and old alike.

Noddy was helped at the launch by children from five local primary schools :-

Cheadle Primary School
St Benedicts RC Primary School
Broad Oak Primary School
St Hilda’s Primary School
Ivy Bank Primary School
This year, we will once again be asking you, our readers to bring some much-needed seasonal cheer to the many underprivileged and vulnerable children from the charities in the local area.
It doesn’t always have to cost a lot of money to donate a gift. We’re appealing for new gifts so look out for the ‘buy one get one free’ or ‘three for the price of two’ offers that are bound to be available on the high street. We would also be very grateful for any unwanted gifts from last year. Children receiving the toys will be of all ages up to 16, so please don’t forget the teenagers.
The recipient charities start having their Xmas parties from the end of November onwards, so please don’t leave it to the last minute before you bring in your donations, although if you are not able to call in until just before xmas, Santa will oblige and ensure that he makes a pick up before the big delivery on Xmas day!!
BiG Storage at Handforth Dean, the driving force behind the Toy Appeal, is to be the main drop off point for the donated toys in the area. The donations will then be stored in a clean, dry and secure storage unit until they are needed for Xmas delivery to the recipient children from the nominated charities. BiG Storage is located on Earl Road, Stanley Green Industrial Estate, Handforth Dean SK8 6PT (Just off the A34 near M&S) - just look for the BiG Storage sign (logo attached). Alternative visit www.bigstorage.info for a location map. Toys can be dropped off Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and from 9am to 4pm on Saturdays or 10am – 4pm on Sundays at the BiG Storage reception which will be clearly sign posted. Please ask for Len, Keith, Trish or Jacci or ring them on 0161 660 6138..
For those people living in Macclesfield, Wilmslow and the surrounding areas it may be easier to drop off at BiG Storage, Fence Avenue, Macclesfield (400 yds from Arighi Bianchis). BiG Storage Macclesfield is open from 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday, Saturdays 9am – 4pm. Please ask for Garry, Paul or Kevin or ring them on 01625 838893
