Rhinomaniacs

Rhino Mania was a world-class art event that was designed to have huge public appeal. Over 10 weeks from July 5 to September 12 2010, 62 incredible sculptures created a trail through the city of Chester with thousands of people following the stampede. Chester Renaissance worked in partnership with Wild in Art to produce this event, along with the generous support of Bank of America, Cheshire West and Chester Council, Chester Zoo, BiG Storage and the North West Regional Development Agency, along with many other enthusiastic local businesses. It celebrated both the city's cultural identity and its status as a must-see visitor destination. There were also 116 mini rhinos dotted around the trail which were created by our talented school children.

Once Rhino Mania sadly ended, the Rhinos were auctioned off at Chester Racecourse and raised £100,000 for selected charities. This is now where the detective work comes in as we try and find where the Rhinos are now living and what they are up to! "Micky The Detective" is going to hunt the Rhinos down and take pictures of them in their new homes so watch this space for Rhino updates coming soon. . . .
