BiG Storage Xmas Toy Appeal in Lancaster and Morecambe
Time flies and Christmas is almost upon us again!!
No doubt, this year with the credit crunch we’ll be thinking twice before we bring out our wallets and credit cards over the festive season. .
It doesn’t cost a lot though to bring a smile and much needed Christmas cheer to deserving young people who through no fault of their own, face hardship. That’s what this year’s BiG Storage Xmas gift appeal is all about.
Launched by Morecambe FC’s very own Manager and ex Manchester United Player Sammy Mcllroy and our Local Mayor – we hope that this year’s toy appeal will be bigger and better than ever before
Last year’s Xmas Toy Appeal brought a fantastic response from generous Lancaster and Morecambe Guardian readers of gifts for Children up to the age of 18 – gifts that really helped to make their Christmas far more special than it otherwise may have been.
This year, we will once again be asking you, our readers to bring some much-needed seasonal cheer to many underprivileged and vulnerable children from the Lancaster Children and Parenting Support Services (CAPSS) who work to keep families facing crisis, together.
It doesn’t always have to cost any money to bring a smile to a young person’s face. We’re appealing for new or good quality used gifts. Look out for the ‘buy one get one free’ or ‘3 gifts for the price of 2’ offers that are bound to be available on the high street; maybe you still have some unwanted gifts from last year.
Please don’t leave it to the last minute before you bring in your donations as the staff from CAPPS have to distribute the toys to well over a 100 families before Xmas Day. Although if you are not able to call in until just before xmas, Santa will oblige and ensure that he makes a pick up before the big delivery on Xmas day!!
BiG Storage on Northgate, White Lund Industrial Estate, Morecambe, the driving force behind the Toy Appeal, is to be the main drop off point for the donated toys. The donations will then be stored in a clean, dry and secure storage unit until they are needed for Xmas delivery to the recipient children from CAPPS. BiG Storage is located close to Asda - just look for the BiG Storage sign (logo attached). Alternatively visit www.bigstorage.info for a location map. Toys can be dropped off Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and from 9am to 5pm on Saturdays at the BiG Storage reception which will be clearly sign posted. Please ask for Phil or Mark or ring them on 01524 65272.
Paul Fahey from BiG Storage adds ‘BiG Storage is delighted once again to be part of the Xmas Toy Appeal. The pleasure last year’s public toy donations brought to countless children who otherwise would not have been so fortunate, was so uplifting and really represented the spirit of Xmas.
‘Its so important to ensure that children who face hardship have an equally as rewarding xmas this year and the BiG Storage team are determined to make that happen in any way that we can.’
