Time flies and Christmas seems to arrive quicker every year, especially when it’s been one where so many of us have been strapped for cash.
Many of us have had to tighten our belts like never before, but when it comes to the Christmas celebrations, we as a nation know how to enjoy ourselves without having to dig too deep.
For the third year running BiG Storage and leading papers in its five catchment areas are running a Xmas Toy Appeal for the many underprivileged and vulnerable children from four local charities in the area.
Last year’s’ Xmas Toy appeal brought a fantastic response from the generous public of gifts for Children up to the age of 16 – gifts that really helped to make their Christmas far more special than it otherwise may have been.
Launched this year at BiG Storage in Warrington, Chester and Morecambe by Bez – the infamous maracas shaking dancer of the Happy Mondays and TV personality, we are hoping to make the appeal bigger and better than ever before.
Bez is no stranger to hardship himself, having been homeless for sometime when he was younger, but he persevered and came through his adversity and is now quite the family man with three boys of his own.
This year, we will once again be asking you to bring some much-needed seasonal cheer to the many underprivileged and vulnerable children from charities in the local area. .
It doesn’t always have to cost a lot of money to donate a gift. We’re appealing for new gifts so look out for the ‘buy one get one free’ or ‘three for the price of two’ offers that are bound to be available on the high street. We would also be very grateful for any unwanted gifts from last year. Children receiving the toys will be of all ages up to 16, so please don’t forget the teenagers.
The recipient charities start having their Xmas parties from the end of November onwards, so please don’t leave it to the last minute before you bring in your donations, although if you are not able to call in until just before xmas, Santa will oblige and ensure that he makes a pick up before the big delivery on Xmas day!!
Andrew Donaldson from BiG Storage comments ‘BiG Storage is delighted once again to be part of the Xmas Toy appeal. We are always overwhelmed at the generosity of the local community, particularly at Xmas time. It’s so important that we ensure that the children supported by these wonderful organisations don’t go without and have just as
good a Christmas as those from families who don’t face hardship’.

Anyone wishing to donate a toy or gift can do so by dropping it off at the local BiG Storage, during normal opening hours.
